India is disproportionately impacted by global climate change. Why? Not only does India have over 3,300 miles of coastline exposed to rising sea levels and unpredictable storm patterns, but it’s also home to 600 million+ farmers who struggle on a day to day basis to support their families and adapt to the water scarcity, heat waves, and natural disasters brought on by a changing global climate. Low income farmers and their families live on the front lines of this global crisis.

In India, weather oscillates between droughts and floods, and the root cause of this devastation is degraded ecology, which the changing climate exacerbates. While this may sound like a problem that’s too big to tackle, there are simple solutions that help. One of the most cost effective ways to restore balance is to preserve existing forests and reforest areas that have already been degraded. Recent research shows there is 1.7 billion hectares of land available to reforest which could cut down the atmospheric carbon pool by 25 percent. Join Association for India’s Development (AID) Boston and MetroWest to hear directly from local leaders on what this looks like in practice and how you can help.

If you’re unable to attend, but would like to support our work, please sponsor a table for your friends/colleagues or donate $50 or more here.

Join us for a night of celebrating social change at Milan 2019! Learn about the work of AID as it tackles the challenges of climate emergency with solutions for resiliency at the last mile.

Warm Regards,
AID Volunteers
